Youth & Young Adult Ministries Office

    YYA plans programs for youth such as workcamps, FaithQuest, Internet listserver COB-YYA, Christian Citizenship Seminar, National Youth Conference, as well as helps support the Ministry Service Program, Youth-to-Youth programs, and regional youth programs. For young adults YYA organizes a Young Adult Conference every year, as well as workcamps and programming at Annual Conference.

    The Youth and Young Adult Ministries Office (YYA) is responsible for programming for the youth and young adults in the Church of the Brethren. The General Board staff person in charge of this program is Chris Douglas.

Chris Douglas Biographical
Chris Douglas     Chris Douglas has been the General Board Staff for Youth/Young Adult Ministry for the past twelve years. She has worked on the past three National Youth Conferences (1986, 1990, 1994). She graduated from Manchester College with a Bachelor of Arts and from Bethany Seminary with Master of Divinity and a Doctor of Ministry. For seven years she pastored the Northview Church of the Brethren. Chris is married to Scott Douglas and they have a twelve year old daughter, Rachel, from whom they are learning about youth ministry every day!

Judy McDonald Program Duties
Judy McDonald     Judy McDonald has been the support staff person for Youth/Young Adult Ministries for 16 years. She is looking forward with anticipation to attending her third NYC in 1998. Judy lives in Elgin with her husband Terry. They have a son and a daughter, as well as a grandson and a granddaughter. Outside the office Judy enjoys long walks, biking, gardening, traveling and reading - but most of all being with her grandchildren!
