Workshops
The Fellowship has sponsored two regional genealogy workshops: one was
started in North Manchester Indiana and the other in the Dayton Ohio area. These
two workshops are scheduled on different Saturdays in the Fall. Contact Thomas Liby, the interim contact for the
Manchester workshop, or Mark
Flory-Steury, the Southern Ohio contact, for information about future
workshops.

Preparations for
the next Indiana workshops are being made by this six member group: Stan Follis
( stan468@comcast.net ) of Fort Wayne,
Dwight Farringer ( LDFarringer@KConline.com ) retired
Manchester College professor; Jean A. (Balsbaugh) Musselman ( mus2@netusa1.net ) of Denver IN; Lois Shuman
( lshuman@iupui.edu ) of Pendleton IN;
Helen Farringer ( LDFarringer@kconline.com ), of
North Manchester; and Thomas Liby ( thomasliby@AOL.com ), in attendance, but
not pictured. Another location and time being considered is Camp Mack in the spring. Directions are provided on
the camp website as well as other information relevant to the workshop. Lunch
will be at Becker Lodge, where
the sessions most likely will take place. A genealogical tour of the murals may also be
added. Contact any of these committee members for current information, to
give suggestions, ideas, or to volunteer. Speakers for sessions at this workshop
and future workshops are needed.
What follows is a review of previous years' agendas.
Fall 2005 Manchester Genealogy Workshop
The 34th North Manchester
genealogy workshop was held on Saturday 19 November 2005 at the North Manchester
Public Library. The program successfully developed into a casual
informative session with individual attendees sharing about their own interests
and the genealogical work they are doing. The conversational atmosphere was
relaxed and easily filled the day's schedule. A committee was formed from those
attending this year's event to plan, organize, and lead the next workshop.
Interest was expressed in having one in the spring. A historical account
was mentioned that at one time officers were elected each year for the
workshop. The group adjourned and reconvened at the Manchester College
Archives where Elizabeth J. Allen gave a very interesting and informative
presentation showing the group the collection and explaining how to access
materials.
1999 Southern Ohio Workshop
The 16th annual Southern Ohio Brethren
Genealogy Workshop was held at the HAPPY CORNER MEETING HOUSE at the corner of
Union and Old Salem Roads in Clayton, Ohio on Saturday, October 2, 1999.
Scheduled were presentations on The Cassel Family by Mary Ellen Cassel
Case, an On-Line Update by Joe Bosserman, and on The Weybright
Family by Elizabeth Lane.
1999 Manchester Genealogy Workshop
On Saturday, October 23, 1999, the

Public Library. Topics included Old Photographs & Genealogy Research,
presented by John Wilson; Early Brethren Migration Routes, by Merle
Rummel; and Researching Old Land Records, by John Knarr, Paul Shrider,
Jr., and Bill Eberly. A noteworthy feature of this workshop was the interesting
family history displays brought by many attendees, using the format of 3-panel,
36" high presentation boards.
1998 Southern Ohio Workshop

Genealogy Workshop was held on Saturday, 3 October 1998, at Happy Corner Meeting
House (corner of Union and Old Salem Roads) in Clayton OH, northwest of Dayton.
