Geigley shared his dream when he said, “We came to think of this spot as a place where children and young people could come to listen to the sounds of nature, away from the noise of men, and learn through God’s creation to feel His presence.”

Mission Statement: “Camp Eder is a Christian Camp and Retreat Center, supported by the Southern Pennsylvania District Church of the Brethren, seeks to offer a place where persons can learn to know Jesus Christ through Bible based ministry in an outdoor environment.”

Cross Keys Village - The Brethren Home Community was founded when church leaders and congregations of the Southern Pennsylvania District of the Church of the Brethren bought a farmhouse near Carlisle, Pennsylvania, and founded the Brethren Home for the Aged at Huntsdale, Pennsylvania. Tragically, this facility was ravaged by fire in 1951. Brethren Home trustees and supporters then purchased the former Cross Keys Hotel near New Oxford and relocated in 1952. As they continued to expand, their small campus enlarged from 19 to 334 acres. Gradually they have evolved into a modern Continuing Care Retirement Community which also provides residential housing for villagers in cottages.

Mission Statement: “A vessel for Christian ministry reflecting the Church of the Brethren value of compassionate service, promotes health and wholeness, provides nursing care, rehabilitation services, and adult residential housing to individuals of all faiths.”
