...HERE AND THERE

Chuck Grew has been serving on the Camp Eder board for some time.  He has recently been elected Chair of this board.

Vernne Greiner and Margie Fultz were part of meetings in Elgin of the General and Association of Brethren Caregivers Boards.

Hannah Custer received first prize in the youngest child division of a national art contest sponsored by The Intercultural Study Committee of the Church of the Brethren to illustrate Revelation 7:9.  She received a blue ribbon, a letter of recommendation and a check for $50.  Hannah is the granddaughter of Pastor Jan & Steve Custer and great-granddaughter of Eve Hertzler.  (See picture on bulletin board.)

Assisting Pastor Del while recovering from his eye problems was George Pickens, Traci Rabenstein and David Wilson.

A fun evening with dinner at Fire Mountain followed by bowling was planned by the Lafiya group on March 15th was enjoyed by a good number of our folks.

Love Feast was held on Palm Sunday provided by the Deacons and directed by Pastor Del in a worshipful atmosphere.

Easter Sunday with a joyous resurrection theme began with a Sunrise Service with Scott Wise speaking followed by our youth preparing breakfast.  The Ensemble and Choir supported the message, "What a Difference a Day Makes" by Pastor Del at the 10:30 Worship.  Many lovely spring flowers graced the sanctuary.

Jacob Cisney participated in a visit by The Cat in the Hat to Baughman Nursery School in New Cumberland who read a Dr. Seuss story to the children.  (See picture on bulletin board.)

Christian Sympathy is expressed to the family of church member, Tim Keebaugh who died on March 12th, 2008.  Funeral services were held in McConnellsburg.  A memorial service was held on Saturday, March 29th here in our sanctuary.

Christian Sympathy is expressed to Theresa Eshbach upon the death of her sister, Opel Chronister.  A memorial service was held on Saturday, March 29th at the Carlisle Church of the Brethren.

Christian Sympathy is expressed to Suzanne Enders upon the death of her mother, Louise Myers.
