Youth Group
The Church of the Brethren is blessed to have camp facilities to house our youth. Inspiration Hills is a 226-acre campground with several natural springs, a swimming lake, and other natural splendors. It exemplifies the wonders of God’s creation. As such, it is a testimony to God’s greatness and a place where camp counselors can teach children about God’s graciousness and His gift in Christ Jesus.
Every summer, we sponsor our youth to attend camp. Throughout the course of the week children have the privilege of embracing firsthand the wonders of God while at the same time experiencing and enjoying the many benefits and blessings from His creative workings—such as fishing, hiking, and swimming.
In past year’s, the Eastwood Church of the Brethren has held a Basketball Camp for children six to 12 years of age. The camp is usually hosted a week prior to Vacation Bible School. Its purpose is twofold--to teach youth the significance of sportsmanship and the importance of having a personal relationship with the Savior. During the week, the youth learn basketball’s fundamentals, such as balance, proper use of eyes, elbow and follow-through (BEEF). For participating in the camp, children receive a certificate of completion, a camp T-shirt, and a personal picture.
