SENIOR HIGH EVENTS

BARN BONANZA
Completed! Groups representing 8 churches came to Bill Longenecker’s farm on October 15th, which turned out to be a beautiful evening. Highlights included great food, devotions by the Youth Cabinet, hay rides, train wreck, donut challenge, square dancing, and a Youth Cabinet Scavenger hunt. Thanks to those who were there, you made it a great night!
FOOTPRINTS11
Completed! This conference brought together youth from 4 districts, Middle PA, Southern, Western, and our own ANE. Walt Wiltschek was our main speaker and Mutual Kumquat led musical worship and also did a concert on Saturday night. There were small group sessions, a service project, great food and accommodations and plenty of time to relax with some free time as well.
RETREAT
Completed! Senior High Retreat was held January 20-22 at Camp Swatara and just like Junior High Retreat we received a few inches of snow! That certainly didn’t slow us down! Ryan Braught led sessions based around Micah 6:8 and our theme was “Be a Disciple in Your World.” The band comprised of Paul McBride, Scott McFadden and Jeff Pincin from Millersville did an excellent job. Other highlights were bag skits, 4 and 9 square, dodgeball, evening snacks and great time with friends! We also collected Bibles and devotional material to send to CLC International, who will then distribute to countries around the world who are desperate for God’s Word.

JUNIOR HIGH EVENTS

RETREAT
Completed! Who would have thought we would get a snow storm at the end of October? Not me, but it happened during our Retreat on October 28-30! Despite the heavy snow that brought down big branches and wires and kept us on the generator most of the weekend, we stayed safe and had a fun time! Marcus Harden travelled from Florida to be our speaker (and by the way, this was only his 2nd time seeing snow!) and he talked about GREEN and how our relationship with Christ needed to be healthy and growing and thriving. Matt Wheeler and Ryan Braught did an awesome job with music for the weekend. Other highlights were the Amazing Race, table games like Catch Phrase and Pit, 4 square, Poly-Pong, movie, smores and indoor campfire and camp songs led by Aaron Ross and Tommy Jensen, snow ball fights and dodgeball! Thanks everyone for such a great weekend!

OTHER EVENTS OF INTEREST

District Conference is the annual gathering of delegates and interested individuals from the Atlantic Northeast District. We gather at E-town College's Leffler Chapel and elements of the event typically include business meetings, presentations, displays, take away sessions etc. The 2011 conference is slated for October 7-8 with David Stauffer (Steven’s Hill congregation) serving as Moderator. For more info, Click Here.

Creation The Creation Festival is an annual gathering of contemporary Christian music stars and speakers in an open-field setting in mid-Pennsylvania. If you have never gone, picture a Christian version of Woodstock and you will have a pretty decent representation. The District does not coordinate a group to go, but we want you to know this event is out there and we encourage you to check it out! Keep watching for information on Creation 2012 as it becomes available!

The 2012 Church of the Brethren Annual Conference will be held in St. Louis, Missouri from July 7-11. Annual Conference offers events for Junior High, Senior High, and Young Adults. Check out the Official Webpage for information of interest to you, much of which is released in March.
